What has happened?
On September 10th, the FCA introduced ‘Track My Application’ (TMA), which will help Connect users keep track of the progress of their FCA application and understand whether they have any outstanding actions e.g. an action to provide the FCA with more information. The FCA will be releasing it in three phases, with the beta version going live first. This phase will cover a majority of the services offered in Connect and the rest will be available in the next two releases, due in November 2018 and January 2019.
As well as TMA, there are a few other changes for firms to be aware of:
- Connect will look and feel different – the FCA has added colour as well as more intuitive menus and navigation
- The landing page will contain tailored content – firms will now only see information that is relevant to them and is kept up to date
- For many application types, there will be more detailed tracking information such as a tracking bar giving a visual representation of applications’ status, more detailed information about applications, and the name of the appointed Case Officer
- Automated alerts have been added which will highlight important updates to applications.
In terms of external communications, the FCA added a Hot Topic in August’s Regulation Round-Up and Contact Centre Associates have been trained in the changes, so can help users navigate the system.
