Mandatory annual Connect update for all firms is coming
Firms that are not registered users already will need to register for the FCA’s Connect system. A mandatory annual Connect update of authorised firms’ details in line with their accounting reference date and carried out via Connect will be a requirement for all firms from January 2020, so the FCA is suggesting that firms register now in preparation.
The FCA has said that it will be emailing, calling and writing to firms that are not currently Connect users to encourage them to sign up before the mandatory annual Connect update requirement comes into force from January 2020. It will also give firms the information they need to register.
