Operational resilience describes your firm's ability to respond to and recover from any disruption that may impact the products and services you provide to your clients.

This is an area of particular focus for the FCA, resulting in the publication of the final rules in PS21/3, 'Building operational resilience', in March 2021.

With the first policy milestone now having passed on 31 March 2022, the FCA expects in-scope firms to be currently undertaking mapping and testing exercises to ensure they remain within impact tolerances for each important business service.
